Events you don't want to miss:

  • Our Christmas in July event begins on July 9 with the Holiday Cast On, a free event.  The pattern is free with yarn purchase and is a beautiful ruched mohair-blend scarf.  Christmas in July continues the next day with our Christmas Stocking, which can be completed with Fair Isle patterning, stripes or plain.

Also, don't forget:

  • Afghan Club on July 10 and August 14
  • UFO club on July 22, and August 26.

 

A Special note: Help Alice knit 200 scarves

A dear friend and customer is knitting scarves to raise money for the foundation fighting the disease that claimed the life of her son - SADS - Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome. 

 

We were all so touched by her effort that we are helping out by knitting or crocheting some for her.  If you are interested in helping also, we have a basket in the shop to collect the scarves.  Click here for a copy of Alice's letter.

  • Also from Skacel we are pleased to bring in Polo, a cotton/acrylic sport to light worsted weight with a "tee-shirt" feel when knitted, and Mosco, a lovely supple mohair blend that's great on its own or with Kid-Seta.
  • Last but certainly not least, there's Cotton Candy, a gently-tweeded 100% cotton DK.

  • If you've never attended a Knitters Day or Evening Out, you should give it a try. Great food, delightful company and nice block of knitting time.
    • Don't forget UFO (Un-Finished Objects) Club the 4th Thursday of each month  5:30 - 8:30 pm.  So what if some of us start rather than finish things that night - it's still fun!
