Notes on Summer Knitting & Crocheting–Vacation Edition

Like many of you, I plan what knit or crochet projects to take on a trip before I plan what clothing to pack. Picking the wrong project doesn’t, of course, ruin a trip, but it can mean never picking up my knitting or not enjoying it enough when I do.

I recently returned from my beloved shack in the North Channel, and I was utterly delighted with my project choice: Mojave from Kelbourne Woolens, with which I am knitting a tee top using the Westbound pattern by Elizabeth Doherty.

Mojave produces a thin, light, breezy but opaque fabric that I love so much I’ve already chosen three additional things to knit with it! And Westbound (available on Ravelry) is a beautifully written pattern with sleeve length and hem shape options as well as help in adjusting shaping, length, etc.

Do yourself a favor and check out our supply of Mojave. If we don’t have enough of the color you’d like, we’ll happily special order it. And ask me about those three additional garments I’m planning!
