Our latest class schedule has some wonderful offerings! The Oops class, which teaches you how to deal with some common knitting mistakes, is back by popular demand, as is the Sock (all levels!) class. For those who need a bit of support in completing their Morton (or other) sweater, we’re offering a series of individual clinics–sign up for as many or as few as you need to get that sweater done! Finally, we’re determined to eliminate the fear of Fair Isle so many suffer from–sign up for our Fair Isle hat class and learn techniques, tips, and tricks while completing a manageable-sized project. Never be held back by fear of stranded knitting again!
We’ll be closed November 22 and 23 for Thanksgiving, but when we re-open on Saturday the 24th we’ll be having a sale that will last through the end of December. We’ve decided it is time to say good-bye to some much-loved but discontinued yarns, so to celebrate Small Business Saturday we are putting ALL Debbie Bliss and Louisa Harding yarns on sale at a steep 40% off. We have good quantities of many of them so take advantage of this opportunity! And don’t worry, I’ve been locating great replacements for them.
This Saturday is the day we should all support our favorite local small businesses, and we hope that we are one of yours!
There is still room in both the Saturday (9/15, 1-5pm) and Sunday (9/16, 1-5pm) Berroco yarn sampling events. When we test-ran this event with some class members, they had so much fun we decided everyone should have a chance to sample! You’ll have generous mini-skeins of Skye, Pixel, Ultra Wool DK, Mercado, Brielle, and Aero to play with, and one lucky participant will win a wonderful door prize courtesy of Berroco. The cost of the sampling is just $7.50 and may be applied to your purchase or order of one of the yarns sampled.
Call or stop by to sign up and get the low-down on what size needles or hooks to bring.
Please join us for an exciting opportunity to sample Berroco’s new fall yarns. We’ll be working with generously-sized mini-skeins of Pixel, Skye, Brielle, Mercado, Aero, and Ultra Wool DK, and one lucky person will win a generous door prize: a kit to make a project in one of the yarns we’re sampling.
Sampling will take place September 15th or 16th (your choice) from 1-5 pm, and $7.50 is all it takes to reserve your spot and group of yarns. Your $7.50 deposit may be applied that day toward your purchase or order of one of the yarns sampled. Call or stop by to sign up and for details about what size needles or crochet hooks to bring.
Also, our fall class schedule is ready–check it out, especially the Morton sweater class using Berroco’s Mercado.
We will be open Saturday Sept. 1 from 10-4, but closed Sunday and Monday (Sept. 2 & 3) in observance of Labor Day. Enjoy the holiday!
We’re throwing an impromptu summer yarn sampling from 1pm till 3pm on Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10. We have selected 5 yarns for your sampling pleasure and we’d love to have you knit or crochet with them and give us some feedback. The sampling is free, but space and supplies are limited, so please give us a call and let us know if you would like to attend and on which day. When you call we’ll fill you in on the recommended needle and/or crochet hook sizes to bring.
These are some of our favorite yarns to work with for this time of year, and we’d love to introduce them to you!
Warm weather has arrived, and we have a great selection of breathable, cool-to-the-touch fibers for summer knit and crochet projects, and some fabulous patterns to go with them–tee-shirt and tank style sweaters, shawls for those over-airconditioned restaurants and theaters, and more. Memorial Day–with the whole summer stretching out ahead of us–is a great time to choose and start your summer knit/crochet projects. I also know a few really organized people who are starting their fall/winter/holiday projects, but that’s another story!
We’ll be open Saturday and Sunday (May 26 and 27) but closed on Monday, Memorial Day. Some of these spring/summer yarns are selling like lemonade on a hot day, so hurry in while they last!
Our new class schedule is ready, and there’s lots of fun to be had. We’ve brought back our sock class and our oops! class by popular demand, and added a finishing clinic as well as a really exciting lace class that will gradually increase your skills as you progress through it’s sections–resulting in a sumptuous shawl. It is made in sport weight yarn rather than lace weight, so no need to fear working with spider-web like yarn! If you are interested in the Oops! class you should sign up soon–it begins May 26th.
