We are once again holding our Old Village Yarn Shop annual Superbowl Sale.
It will take place this Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 1pm till 4pm.
We are putting an amazing select–but large and diverse–group of yarns on sale for between 30% and 60% off their original prices. The yarns on sale in the 60% off category include some must-have silks, cashmeres, camel hair, some linens and some cottons!
Build up your stash without using all of your cash
The Ice Festival in downtown Plymouth takes place this Friday December 12th through Sunday December 14th, and we are putting a group of yarns selected for their warmth, coziness and luxury on sale to add to the fun. All of them would feel so wonderful to knit or crochet with after a day outdoors enjoying the ice sculptures! Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed Chunky, Louisa Harding Kashmir Aran, Noro Cash Iroha, Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK, and Louisa Harding Kashmir Baby will all be 50% off from Friday through Sunday. The usual fine print applies: all discounted sales are final, no returns or exchanges. Come in early for best selection!
Our new class schedule is available for viewing and printing now! In it you will find some perennial favorites like our regular 5-week classes, the Oops and Sock Classes, and a new one, the Lined Mitten class, which results in a super cuddly and warm mitten while teaching you lots of techniques.
We will be closed December 24 through December 26 for Christmas, and December 31 and January 1 for the New Year. All of us at the shop are wishing you warm and wonderful holidays and look forward to helping you with lots of fun knit and crochet projects in the New Year!
Today marks our 17th anniversary at Old Village Yarn Shop, and to celebrate we decided to give you, our fabulous customers, a sale! A large group of yarns (including Louisa Harding, some Debbie Bliss, and others) will be 40% off through the 17th of November. We encourage you to take advantage of this great discount while supplies last–this is a great time and opportunity to whip up some holiday gifts without breaking the bank! Come celebrate with us!
Just wanted to let you know we’ve had to change the date for Knit, Nibble & Sip (originally scheduled for October 14) to October 21. We can’t wait to see you all then!
You might not want to wait till then to see all the delectable new yarns that have arrived for our fall and winter knitting and crocheting delight: Berroco Ultrawool, a plethora of beautiful colors of Andean Mist, the sumptuous Bento, a raft of fabulous sock yarn colors, new shades in Folio, Millefiori, and Gusto, Millefiori Big, cloudlike Catena, Zauberball Cotton, Spud and Chloe Sweater, and the incredible Swan’s Island Eco-wash sport weight. Whew! Let’s get those needles and hooks working!
This might be the easiest, most luxurious gift you could give yourself or someone else you love! It requires just three balls of Berroco’s glorious Andean Mist (alpaca and silk) used double so it works up quickly.
Come in and check out how cozy this feels–like a cloud, but warm–and how beautiful the new colors that just arrived are.
The fall class schedule is ready! We’ve brought back two classes that are perennial favorites: Oops! and Socks, and we’ve added the 21-Color Slouch Hat. The 21-Color Slouch Hat is a kit from Blue Sky Fibers which uses all 21 colors of their lovely Woolstok yarn, and in the class we plan to cover working in the round, using double points or magic loop, jogless stripes, and knitting in your ends or doing Russian Join. For those of you who don’t need to take the class but would like to purchase the kit (the hat is adorable) we will enthusiastically order you the kit!
Of course our Beginner, Advanced Beginner, and Intermediate knitting classes are on the schedule as well as Crochet and Help class. Any or all may be signed up for now!
Our summer class schedule is ready! We are offering the Oops! class and the Socks class which are perennial favorites, and a couple of one-day technique workshops which should prove very useful:

Our spring/summer knitting is at full speed: sweaters, tanks, scarves, shawls all made in lovely cool fibers. Ask us about them!
Just thought we’d let you all know that we’ll be closed this Sunday, May 14 for Mother’s Day. We wish all the moms a happy celebration.
We have really flung ourselves into spring and summer knitting this year–a direct result of how great the new yarns and designs for this spring are. Stop by and check them out–ask us to show you what we are knitting and crocheting for spring/summer ourselves, and the many projects we’ve lined up but haven’t begun yet!
